MISS ELLIE & LOUIE LITTER BORN ON NOVEMBER 2, 2010...
Dr. Elam and I were getting ready for bed on November 2, 2010 when the phone rang at about 11pm. Bobby and Gail Swineford (of Hopewell, VA), owners of "Miss Ellie" was pregnant at full term and they were concerned about her and the puppies condition. Dr. Elam immediately told Bobby to come to our animal hospital.
Dr. Elam and I dressed quickly and headed to the animal hospital reviewing the steps once we arrived in case Dr. Elam needed to perform an emergency c-section on Miss Ellie. Once Bobby arrived, Dr. Elam examined her and decided she did need an emergency c-section. Bobby and I followed Dr. Elam's instructions carefully and once the puppies started coming, we were up to our elbows in puppies.
The pups were very active and the best part is the noise a newborn pup makes. Miss Ellie had been surgically inseminated from "Louie" owned by Chad Baker of Bristol, Tennessee and it was evident that we had a litter of healthy, beautiful, active, good size pups. Bobby and I worked with Dr. Elam until about 2am on Wednesday morning bringing the pups around. It was a wonderful experience for Bobby and I thoroughly enjoyed working along side a real "green horn". By the time the last pup was born, Bobby was a pro at caring for these pups.
If you are interested in finding more about this litter, please contact Bobby and Gail at 804-458-6084. The pups will be ready to go to their new home around Christmas! What a cool Christmas present!
